Rajesh:
I was initially perplexed with Google’s home page too. The image is one of Jackson Pollock’s painting.
Its Jackson Pollock’s birthday today. The image might be Google’s way of paying tribute to one of the most influential American painters in the last century.

Thanks to all of you. It makes a lot of sense now. However, one small change can make this even better. They can create a Google Knol page for Jackson Pollock and link to it. That way, they can also promote Google Knol
Of course, I also know that there are so many smart people there woho know what to do
Best,
Rajesh

Well, having just come from the National Gallery in D.C., maybe Google is channeling Jackson Pollock. Some will think it is cool, and others will be perplexed-like what were they thinking?
